Firefox) are light years faster on a Mac. It may also be hard to believe that Blackberry 5 * still* reigns as the fastest mobile browser (who what have thought?). Just goes to show that you need to listen to the data.

And remember: N o matter how perfect your app code is, your end users' experience can still suffer if the browser they're using is slow. So stay in the know with the data below.

…invest in Greengage by resourcing their tech implementation ( Android, Blackberry and back-end support).

One of the developers assigned to work on the Greengage project was Dessy Daskalov. Dessy has been working with us for a while and was looking for an opportunity to spread her wings and try building a company of her own. Assigned to the Greengage project, her and Lindsey hit it off immediately, sharing a background in sustainability and a drive to build something that made the …

…ten years (see Apple, Google, Microsoft, Yahoo, BlackBerry, Nokia, Lenovo, and so on). They're willing to make audacious, aggressive acquisitions like this one — remember, they just spent 10% of their net worth to buy WhatsApp — to stay on top.

Social networking on mobile is different than social networking on the desktop, and that's because:

Given your permission, mobile apps can access your device's address book, reducing friction by not requiring you …

…site IE8 compatible? From Netscape 3 to Explorer 6 to Blackberry to the latest Chrome, supporting legacy browsers has — and probably will be — a concern for web designers.

So what are your options when working on a new web site or application?

Don't use anything that IE8 doesn't understand. This includes CSS3 and media queries.

Create a separate stylesheet tailored for IE8. This is a common trend, but it's still a pain that requires a whole separate QA

…browser in the desktop/laptop space for the last two years. On the mobile side, it looks like using a BlackBerry to surf the web is going to give you the best response time. In April 2012, BB Opera Mini 6.5 was the fastest browser. In November 2012, the BlackBerry 5 browser then took over the number one spot. And today, BlackBerry 5 still holds strong as the fastest mobile browser.

So, what's in store for the future?

It's probably safe to say that Chrome will still dominate …

…is continuing to invest heavily in mobile, and Apple is expected to fill the gap that BlackBerry has left. Enterprise apps also tend to generate way more revenue than consumer apps, so this might be a good opportunity to stake a claim to all that cash on the table, especially for Apple enterprise app developers.

Using third-party services (like Parse and Appcelerator) to assist in mobile app development efforts will free up precious developer time, allowing them to focus their efforts …

…" Quoth the Raven" has written other articles that say that BlackBerry has a future, the most notable being BlackBerry: Rebirth of the Original Gangster .

George Kesarios, another self-identified contrarian, argues that BlackBerry "is worth a minimum of $ 20 a share, if it stops bleeding". It almost sounds like a tautology ("the patient will live if he doesn't die"), but he says that if the company can manage to cut its losses, …
