…remember reading that the Dieciocho had acquired serious armaments from paramilitaries in Central America - paramilitaries funded, in many instances, by United States foreign policy - and imported that weaponry back into Los Angeles, where I live. I'm not thrilled to hear that, to say the least, but at least it explains why the United States has so many soldiers whose uniforms describe them as police officers.
