What interests me about Jeff's writing is that while he's talking about fairly common topics, he typically focuses on just a single discussion point, which makes each of his posts a conversation waiting to happen. The process of watching Jeff make a point about some opinion he has formed about a given tool or technique and then seeing the community respond to that point has been a really enjoyable experience so far. Rails 3.1

As you might know already, ActiveRecord lets you store serialized objects by using serialize in your model:

Ruby - app/models/user.rb

class User ActiveRecord :: Base serialize :interests end

These serializeable attributes can then be set as any Ruby type such as an array:

rails console

user = User . create! ( :interests => [ 'dinosaurs' , 'lasers' ] ) user . reload . interests # => ["dinosaurs", "lasers"]

Jeff Kreeftmeijer wrote a great introduction on Steak . And finally, the RSpec book is really gives a good insight into how to use Cucumber the right way.
