While implementing Linkedin share-button on my Rails 4 application with turbolinks enabled, I encountered problem how to reload Linkedin share-button correctly because my code always showing "duplicate in.js loaded, any parameters will be ignored".

Thankfully, the Discourse team gave us their full support and eventually we found a way to integrate our authentication system extensibly. This also means that if you have a custom authentication system, you should …

This is why we can't have nice code. Martin Sústrik argues In the Defense of Spaghetti Code , quite successfully I think, that it's often clearer to have one large 1500 line function than it is to have …

LinkedIn, along with the widely popular Airbnb and Uber , are all leveraging data in various ways to improve the experiences they're delivering to their customers. LinkedIn, for example, is using data to make better business and product strategy decisions; Uber, meanwhile, leverages geospatial data to better match its drivers with rider preferences; and Airbnb uses data to understand where the opportunities—and room for improvement—lie within the company's …

I heard a lot of companies were switching from Ruby Rails to node.js. Linkedin and Groupon are two of those I know about.

Then again, there are more stable and mature asynchronous i/o libraries than node.js you could learn.

It sounds like node.js is better just because of the interoperability with Javascript and the associated suite of tools. And that learning it is a natural fit if I want to learn Javascript for web design.

And node.js isn't a waste if you want to do web …
