I believe that most non-developers think developers are like Neo in The Matrix : that devs can see all parts of an app simultaneously at all times, like Neo's living-ASCII-art view of the Matrix itself. That devs are omniscient, omnipotent beings in regard to an app. I've come to think of this mental model as the Neo Fallacy.
If pressed, I don't think we could say how we think developers do this. (Optic fiber running from servers to devs' brain stems? …
…weeks), how it worked with Ruby, my mind was open. I was like Neo in The Matrix when he sees the world decoded.
Make it "idiot-proof"
Are we doing ourselves a disservice by building conveniences into our products? As makers we're always trying to add convenience for customers. We all try to build features and products that lessen friction.
We never stop learning after childhood though. Maybe things shouldn't be too easy. Friction is good. That's how we learn. …

…Inception and The Matrix -- that maybe Christopher Nolan saw The Matrix and decided to make his own artistic answer to it. In fact I like to think of Inception as the sequel that The Matrix always deserved but never got.
One reason I think this whole phenomenon of an artistic answer to a previous work is totally cool is because Martin's remake expands on the scope of Hobb's original to a degree which is so extraordinarily detailed, and realized in such depth and detail, …
…Keanu Reeves Location": a desk situated in the dead centre of the mass of desks (just like his character in The Matrix had). I had that spot in the Shopify office:
Here's my old desk, all clear and ready for the next person to occupy it. I took the Shopify standard-issue 15" MacBook Pro, Magic Mouse and wireless keyboard with me, but left the Cinema Display and Aeron chair behind. It would've been nice to take both back to the home office with me, if …
Trinity is the object, Matrix is the Context, HelicopterPilot is the role (injected runtime in Matrix).
It's obviously a simplification but overall I think this metaphor expresses the idea of DCI very well. Trinity represents the D ( Data ), Matrix represents the C ( Context ) and HelicopterPilot role along with the Helicopter itself (and other objects) represent the I ( Interaction ).
This example is good as it shows how your software can evolve. Your objects …

…Iron Monkey , a terrific Robin Hood story directed by Matrix action choreographer Yuen Woo-ping. Quentin Tarantino arranged its US distribution. At least two actors play the brothel owner at different points in the film. The same is true for a few other roles.
In America, we'd call this a continuity error and it'd be seen as a serious problem. Chinese action movies ignore this even when they have the budget to fix it and represent the work of the best people in the business. …
…in the film. He has very real issues to deal with. He's also apparently been watching The Matrix a lot, because when he dreams, his subconscious chooses to frame his issues in an epic struggle against faceless oppression with reality-bending special effects. Sure, it's elaborate and intricate even by dream standards, but Cobb's really messed up.
The "inception team" - Ariadne, Arthur, Saito and the rest - are simply projections of Cobb's subconscious; …

In the case of the Twitter app, it may be my favorite Twitter app ever made
NewsRob was the most recommended and probably best highlights how not to build an Android UI
